Arapaima (Arapaima

gigas) - kostnojęzykowych fish of th e family, sometimes extracted to Arapaimidae. Also known as pirar uku (red fish) or Paich. One of the biggest freshwater fish of th e world. Massive body is covered with large scales. Dorsal and an al fins are seated firmly on the back of the body. In her wide mouth are small conical teeth. Arapaimy head is covered tarczkami bone. It has steel-bluish color of the shade. In the rear half of the body, edge scales are red.
